THE CHRISTIAN JOURNEY 2
CHAPTER TWO
God’s Love for
Sinners
H |
ere we are reminded of God’s
ever-loving nature. Despite all the things we might have done; the things that
are not right in the sight of God, He still loves us very much(in fact his love
for us has not even changed). He loves and cares about us so much not because
we are holy or righteous but because He himself is love. If God does not love
he denies himself of who he is. His love for us is deep and sincere, regardless
of what we have done. John 3:16 tells us “for God so love the world that he
gave his only son that who so ever believed in him should not perish but have
everlasting life”.
“For our sake he made him to be sin
who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2Cor
5:21). What grace, for our sake God made his own son to suffer for the sins he
did not commit; the sin we committed, so that we might be vindicated and
justified in his name, that we might become his very own righteousness in
Christ Jesus.
With all the love that our creator has shown us, we still lust after Earthly things of this world, persecuting and denying the love of Christ. We set our minds on the things of the flesh so we live according to the standards of the flesh rather than those of God (Rom 8:5). Anyone who sets his mind upon the things of this world; the worldly pleasures, denies God because he/she puts God after something else rather than putting him first.
God loves both the sinners and believers equally, “for there is no partiality with God” (Rom 2:11). It is but a blessing that we are still alive and aware of the infinite love and mercy that God has for us, let us change and live our lives worthy of God’s love
